Kovacevic: We're here to win every match

Rzeszow, Poland, November 29, 2018 - Italy's Diatecx Trentino beat hosts Asseco Resovia Rzeszow in straight sets to top Pool B at the 2018 FIVB Men's Club World Championship - a satisfying moment for the four-time world championship, despite the fact that both teams were already qualified for the semifinals.

Uros Kovacevic, Trentino outside hitter: "We definitely came here to win. It was our goal which we achieved. It was really difficult to play against Resovia on their own home court. But we proved that we came here to win every match. I am so happy because we took the first place despite the fact that we had a lot of problems when we faced Sada Cruzeiro earlier."

Maarten van Garderen, Trentino outside hitter: "It's been a hard tournament, but we played well. We did our best to win the pool and we could learn a lot of new things here. Now we need to rest because the game ahead of us is interesting but also really difficult."

Luke Perry, Resovia libero: "The first two sets were really close, but Trentino are a very good team and they did what good teams do - the beat you in the end. We are a little bit disappointed that we didn't take our chances, because we had obviously a lot of opportunities. Now we are going to play against Lube and we have to focus on our game and look at the video. Lube are a very good team, but we have no pressure. We just want to have fun and find our rhythm, because we're going back to playing in the PlusLiga, so we have to focus on ourselves and try to beat a very good team."

Marcin Mozdzonek, Resovia captain and middle blocker: "The staff decided to change the starting list for today's match and I think that this rest was needed for some players. On Saturday against Lube we have to play hard, relentlessly, keep them under pressure with our service, we must avoid simple mistakes and it should be good. I do not like to say that we will win, but it's a bit like this: We have a medal to win, but it will be easier for us to play for it than for other teams."

Gheorghe Cretu, Resovia coach: "We had a chance to win the first two sets, but it was quite a positive game and I'm happy, because those guys who haven't played in this tournament before needed it. In Czestochowa we won't be favourites, but we are going to fight, no matter who will stand on the other side of the net. For us it was important to give some rest for the players who spent a lot of time on the court."

Rafal Buszek, Resovia outside hitter: "It is certainly a shame that we lost the first two sets, because we had our chances, we had the ball on our side and we should have finished the most important actions. In the third set, we didn't start well, so we had to chase the opponent, and this was an opponent from the top, so it wasn't easy. Now we go to Czestochowa with a very good attitude, we have nothing to lose."
