Pool B leaders Trentino Volley and Asseco Resovia clash in Rzeszow

 

Rzeszow, Poland, November 29, 2018 - FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship Pool B leaders Trentino Volley and Asseco Resovia meet in Rzeszow on Thursday.

Head-to-Head
·    Asseco Resovia and Trentino Volley meet for the first time at the Club World Championship.
·    These teams have met twice in the Champions League (since 2000), both in the 2009/10 Playoff 6. Trentino won 3-0 at home and 3-1 in Rzeszów. This match will also be played in Rzeszów.
·    Trentino are unbeaten in their Club World Championship meetings against teams from Poland, beating PGE Skra Belchatow twice and Jastrzebski Wegiel once.

Asseco Resovia
·    Asseco Resovia started their inaugural Club World Championship campaign with wins over Sada Cruzeiro (3-2) and Khatam Ardakan (3-0).
·    Asseco Resovia could become the third Polish teams to win their first three Club World Championship matches, after PGE Skra Belchatow and Jastrzebski Wegiel, who both won their opening four matches in the competition.
·    Asseco Resovia had 10 stuff blocks and 11 serve winners in their 3-0 victory on Wednesday.
·    Thibault Rossard was Asseco Resovia's top scorer against Sada Cruzeiro (22 points) and Khatam Ardakan (19).

Trentino Volley
·    Trentino beat Khatam Ardakan 3-0 and Sada Cruzeiro 3-1 to start their quest for a fifth Club World Championship title.
·    During their last Club World Championship participation, in 2016, Trentino won their first three matches before falling to Zenit-Kazan in the semifinal. They finished third that year.
·    Trentino have lost only four of their 35 Club World Championship matches: 3-2 v UPCN in 2013, 3-1 v Lokomotiv Novosibirsk in 2013, 3-0 v Al-Rayyan in 2014 and 3-0 v Zenit-Kazan in 2016.
·    Eight Trentino players contributed with at least one point against Sada Cruzeiro on Wednesday, with Aaron Russell (24) leading the way.
