Rzeszow, Poland, November 23, 2018 - One of two Polish clubs in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship alongside Skra Belchatow, Asseco Resovia begin their campaign against three-time winners Sada Cruzeiro of Brazil.
Head-to-Head· Asseco Resovia and Sada Cruzeiro meet for the first time at the Club World Championship as Resovia are making their debut in the competition.
· Sada Cruzeiro are unbeaten in their Club World Championship matches against Polish teams. They beat PGE Skra Belchatow in the 2012 semifinals (3-2) and in the 2017 third-place decider (3-0), and they defeated ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle in the 2017 group stage (3-0).
Asseco Resovia· Asseco Resovia are the fourth Polish team to make an appearance at the Club World Championship, after PGE Skra Belchatow, Jastrzebski Wegiel and ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle.
· A Polish team has yet to win the competition. PGE Skra (2009, 2010) and Jastrzebski Wegiel (2011) previously finished as runners-up.
· Resovia will play all three of their group stage matches at home in Rzeszow.
· Resovia have won the national title in Poland on seven occasions, most recently in 2014/15. That season, they also finished runners-up in the Champions League.
Sada Cruzeiro· Sada Cruzeiro participate at the Club World Championship for the seventh time. Only Trentino Volley (8 in 2018) have appeared in more editions. Zenit Kazan also appear for the seventh time in the competition.
· Cruzeiro have finished in the top-four in each of their previous five participations - 2012 (2nd), 2013 (1st), 2014 (4th), 2015 (1st), 2016 (1st) and 2017 (3rd).
· Only Trentino Volley have won more titles (4) and have claimed more podiums (7) at the Club World Championship.
· Cruzeiro have won all three of their Club World Championship titles at home in Betim.
· Cruzeiro have won 20 Club World Championship fixtures, of which 15 in straight sets, four by a 3-1 scoreline and one in five sets.
· Cruzeiro have won the Brazilian Volleyball Super League on six occasions, including each of the last five editions. They have also won the last three editions of the South American club championship (2016-2018).
