Team profile

Trentino Volley (ITA)

With four world titles to their name, consecutively from 2009 to 2012, all in Doha, Trentino Volley are the most decorated team in the history of the FIVB Men's Club World Championship.

This year they are taking part in the competition for the eighth time, after missing out on last year's edition. In addition to their four titles, Trentino have also picked up a couple of bronze medals, in 2013 and 2016.

Trentino were European champions three times, winning the Champions League in 2009, 2010 and 2011. In their latest apperance in Europe's premier club competition Trentino finished runners up to Zenit Kazan in 2016, after losing in the final in five sets.

Last year they were also runners-up in the CEV Cup, after edging France's Tours VB in a Golden Set in the final.

Founded in 2000, they have been crowned Italian champions four times, in 2008, 2011, 2013 and 2015. In the latest edition of the Italian Superleague, in 2017-18, Trentino finished fourth.

Lorenzetti Angelo

Lorenzetti Angelo

Angelo Lorenzetti, 54, began his coaching career in late 1980s, firstly in Fano, before moving on to lead various junior and youth National Teams of Italy.
He has led two clubs to the national championship title in Italy: Modena in 2002 and 2016, and Piacenza in 2009. With Modena he has also won the Italian Cup twice.
He took charge of Trentino in the summer of 2016, replacing Radostin Stojcev, leading the side to the silver medal in the 2017 European CEV Cup. Under his guidance, Trentino were also runners-up in last year's Italian League and Italian Cup.
